Prakarsh is a Chair Professor of Economics at Plaksha University and Program Chair, Data Science, Economics and Business (DSEB), where he leads and mentors a team of faculty and researchers who are passionate about advancing the frontiers of economic knowledge and solving real-world challenges. He has over 13 years of experience in teaching, research, and leadership roles in academia and industry, with a PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics.
Prakarsh's core competencies are data science and analytics, which he applies to various domains such as personnel economics, behavioral economics, marketing, and digital entertainment. His mission is to create long-term value through science by conducting rigorous experiments and causal analysis, and disseminating the findings to business leaders, academics and policy makers. He has published 21 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious economics journals, and received multiple research grants from the Gates Foundation, The World Bank, and the United Nations. He has also collaborated with industry leaders such as Amazon, where he managed teams of data scientists, research scientists, economists, and business intelligence engineers to generate strategic insights for the company. He is driven by curiosity, excellence, and impact, and he strives to inspire and empower the next generation of economists and data scientists.
